Welcome to our website!
This site has been remodelled and re-released as of February 2011. As the holiday season approaches, Corfu will hopefully be seeing many visitors, some new and some regulars. This period always inspires many to consider relocating here and perhaps building their own home.This seemed like a good time to update the site.

For most, this will be a new experience in any country. It was for us! There can be many pitfalls for the unwary, particularly if you are considering building in a foreign country where perhaps your knowledge of the language and regulations is, dare we say, weak! To add to this, if you have never undertaken such a project, we guarantee that there will be issues that you never considered. Looking back on our experiences, we can’t believe how naive we were!

So there we are! Within these pages, we hope to give an insight into the agony and the ecstasy experienced during the building of our house in Corfu. As I have intimated, we undertook the project with no building experience whatsoever. Hopefully there will be information here that others who are considering embarking on similar projects may find useful. The first couple of pages may seem a lot of text. Stick with it! There are plenty of pictures soon afterwards!

On the subject of images
We have included many images throughout the site in the form of galleries. Clicking on any image within a gallery will open a larger version of that image. From there, the user can navigate backwards and forwards throughout the gallery. If you believe that ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ we have included an album of all of the galleries for your convenience.

Watch out for the red highlighted text! These are issues that we consider very important. Ignore them at your peril!

Administrative Note
This is the latest re-write of this website. We have taken the opportunity to rebuild it using WordPress which we hope will simplify updates and general maintenance. We have also moved servers as part of a cost cutting exercise and also to give us total control! If you have had any difficulty accessing this site recently, it was probably due to the move from one server to the other. Sorry!

Where’s the forum?
If you have previously visited this site, you will notice that the forum no longer exists. We found that it was not being used and perhaps worse, it was giving us all sorts of security issues that that we had to regularly deal with. Put simply, it was more trouble than it was worth.

Do not fret at its loss! If you feel the urge, we have provided the opportunity for you to comment or ask questions throughout the site. All we would ask is that you register in order to make such comments or queries.

However, never say never! In the event that there was to be sufficient requests, we would consider a forum again.

Site Navigation – Important!
Although the site navigation has altered from the last version of the site, we have tried to keep things logical. Essentially, if you start at the first tab and work through any sub menus that appear it will explain things logically. The garage build that was undertaken before the house is one area that may at first seem illogical. Hopefully, we have explained the reasons within that section.

Privacy
We take security and privacy very seriously. We will not knowingly disclose any personal details of users of this website. Should you become concerned about any privacy issue concerning this site please contact us immediately.
